Upper cover blind stamped with a border rule and with a central design stamped in gold of a cross emblazoned with a rose, and with roses at the points. Lettered across spine in gold, within triple rules stamped in gold at head and foot. Top edge gilt, fore and bottom edges uncut. Very light wear to boards, mild wear at corners of boards. Clear of foxing throughout. Previous owners signature in ink on front free end-paper, earlier price in pencil, with bookseller’s sticker on front pastedown. In protective plastic wrapping. Very Good condition.
This book was originally planned to have been published in 1916 but after many delays and postponements was eventually published in 1924, with the addition of two further chapters and the Appendix. Despite it’s age, this work remains the only significant historical study in English on the Rosicrucian movement of the 17th century and its successors.
